Privacy policy

Last updated: 6 September 2026

UK Visa Guide ("we", "this site") is an independent information website. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as possible: the site has no accounts, no newsletters and no tracking of our own.

What we collect

Contact form. If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you submit. We use them only to read and reply to your enquiry, and we keep the correspondence only as long as needed to handle it. We do not add you to any mailing list or share these details with anyone else.

Server logs. Like almost every website, the server that hosts this site keeps standard access logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type, timestamps) for security and error diagnosis. These are retained for a limited period by our hosting provider and are not used to identify individual visitors.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read, how visitors arrive, and roughly where they are — for example, whether a nationality page is being read in the country it is written for. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, and information about your device and browser. We do not send names, email addresses or anything you type into the contact form to Google Analytics, and we do not use it for advertising audiences.

Analytics cookies are switched off by default for visitors in the UK and the European Economic Area until you accept them through the consent message shown on your first visit (Google Consent Mode). You can change your choice later through that message, or block Google Analytics everywhere with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Google's own description of how it handles analytics data is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Cookies and advertising

Apart from Google Analytics, this site does not set cookies for its own purposes.

We may display advertising provided by Google AdSense. When advertising is active, Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies (including identifiers based on your IP address) to serve and measure ads — including, where you consent, personalised ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can read how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.

If advertising is enabled, users in the UK and the European Economic Area will be shown a consent message before advertising cookies are used, where required, and will be able to accept, refuse or change their choices through that tool. Depending on your choices and Google's applicable settings, non-personalised or limited ads may still be shown.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its use. For anything related to this site — including asking us to delete contact-form correspondence — use the contact form and we will respond. For data processed by Google in connection with advertising, Google is an independent controller and the links above explain your controls.

Third-party links

This site links extensively to GOV.UK and occasionally to other external sites. Their privacy practices are their own; this policy covers only ukvisa-guide.com.

Changes to this policy

If our data practices change — for example when advertising goes live — we will update this page and its date.
